Ice Castle!!

We went to the ice castles yesterday and had so much fun!! But wait, First we had McKenna's parent/teacher conference. So... give me a moment to brag.
She is doing very well. She is very smart and loves to learn. She is not shy and speaks very well in front of the class. (which is so funny to me, bc she always 'acts' like she is so shy..I know the truth!) :) She writes in great detail with many sentences...which Ms. Williams kept praising! :) She has needed to work on her finger spacing, but as of last night, her teacher said she thinks she has it down! :) We are working on her sight words and she picks them out very easily and is starting to read well...for my kindergartner. :) She is super friendly and has many friends. She is very respectful of Ms. Williams, which is a must anyway! :P And last but not least, best story ever! When they are working quietly on a project, if people at another table are talking, she will walk over there and say, "shhh! You need to be quiet because I can't concentrage!" lol! Isaac and I just loved it! I was shocked and Isaac said, "wow, our kid is that kid!" hehe, so funny. She is so great!
So, continuing, once we got home, we hoped back into the car all bundled up and headed over to Midway to the ice castles. They were pretty amazing. The guy who built them was actuallly there, so we got to see a little of what he was doing in action. http://brentsicecastle.blogspot.com/
The girls had a blast! They were just running back and forth and through this tunnel and that. We probably could have stayed there all night, bc they loved it and were having so much fun! Funny though, bc it really wasn't that big, but there was just so much to look at! Thomas loved walking too. But... routine. 1. take off gloves. 2. get out of mom's arms and have so much fun walking around!! 3. fall down and hit bare hands on ice. 4. cry, get picked up, and back on gloves. ...then repeat! :) But it really was a such a great family night! We got the best pictures!

The ice was so cool and each was so unique and different. The light that was projected underneath the crystals made is so beautiful to look at and created like a blue effect through the ice. It was just really something ...amazing. Lots of hard work! I think the thing I loved the most...although the big castles were pretty amazing, I loved how the ice dripped during the day and made certain areas all bubbly. It was really cool.
Oh, and after our girls had so much fun running around all night, as we walked out we saw the No Running sign. hehe. Oops!

SEE!! Bubbly!

Love family nights!!
