In Sharing Time during Primary, the week before Christmas, Sister Thurber gave the Christmas story out of the Bible. Luke, chapter 2. She then asked the children what the true meaning of Christmas was. McKenna raised her hand. Me in all my shining glory, turned around to hear her answer, SO proud that my daughter was giving the answer to the all knowing TRUE meaning of Christmas. She sweetly says, "to spend time with our families?!"
What!? Did she just say that. A little rush of embarrassment rushed through my face. I know... aren't I horrible! Not that she embarrassed me, but just the thought of her saying that like I never taught her what the true meaning was. I turned around again and said, "McKenna!? You KNOW what it is!" Her teacher politely looked at me and said, "she did great, what a great answer McKenna." Brother Clyde- he is so great. I love him and his wife! Anyway, later when I told Isaac, he too said, it was a great answer. Christmas time is a wonderful time to spend time with our families. I kind of laugh thinking about the whole thing, but she really did give the perfect answer. She does too know the true meaning as well.
Monday night, we as a family for FHE read the Christmas story out of the bible. Did you know, I have never read the whole chapter!? It is a truly miraculous story. What a gift we have been given.
Also, at church on Sunday, I guess we as a primary are supposed to sing at church next Sunday- Christmas Day! (blah, who came up with that!? They are just trying to make us all come) lol The song is Silent Night. We practice that also for FHE. I played it for them on the piano. I so enjoy playing the piano, listening to my kids AND Isaac sing right next to me. I love it! What a miraculous find to buy a piano for $50!!
